Proverbs 18:24 The man of many friends [a friend of all the world] will prove himself a bad friend, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
We are called to love others showing them godly love even when they wrong us (John 13:34). But in doing good to others, we must retain our focus on pleasing God first (Exodus 20:3).
Some people want to be friends with everyone and disliked by none so much that they may intentionally lie to others to “spare their feelings” (Deut 5:20), or refuse to save their brother by lovingly telling them the truth about themselves (Matthew 18:15), or join into sinful activities (Galations 6:1).
But remember, there is a friend who is real, loving, and has our backs more than any other being and no person or thing should ever dissuade us from honoring Him above all else (Joshua 24:15).
Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
Why do some run away from giving their life to Christ?
What people know as “fun” go against some of the very things God instructed us not to do.
Some people feel like they should get all their “fun” out the way and then come to Christ. Unfortunately others get so lost in their “fun” until they never seem to accept Christ. What people fail to realize is part of their purpose and blessings are being passed by while they have “fun.” It’s unfortunate that people are willing to pass up guaranteed blessings to have “fun” in the world. It’s even more unfortunate that people are willing to gamble their salvation for “fun.” Time is too short to waste on worldly affairs. Accept Jesus as your Lord and commit your life to Christ today.
