Colossians 1: 16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

God is meant to be placed first.  In everything we do and every part of our day, we seek and put Him first.  We praise, honor, and worship Him, first.

In addition to making Him a priority, everything was created with the intent to worship God.  So our purpose is to worship Him with our jobs, organizations, activities, and everything we put our hands to.  We make decisions and actions pleasing to God in everything that we have been given authority over.
