1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
In any natural fight, a person must train and prepare themselves for the fight if they want to win. They lift weights, increase their skill level, better their technique, etc. For most fighters, this process is not always easy because they’re pushing their bodies to the limit.
God did not instruct us (through Paul) to fight the devil or fight other people. He instructed us to fight the good fight of faith. The devil is always looking for an opportunity through situations and circumstances to deprive us of our faith. It takes a physical and spiritual effort to hold on to our faith; especially through difficult times. We train and build our faith by spending time in the word of God, believing the word of God, and speaking the word of God over our situation. This gives us the strength we need to overcome the opposition of the devil and win the fight.
