1 Corinthians 13: 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
The foundation of Christianity is love.
Let’s look at what love is not. Love is not envious, boastful, proud, rude, self-seeking, easily angered, keeping records, or delighting in evil.
In this same chapter regarding love, verse 11 speaks about putting away childish things. “11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.”
We can conclude from this verse that it takes a level of maturity to love in this manner. By being envious, rude, self-seeking, etc. we are considered childish. It may take more effort for some but we all must love with a pure heart. Love All and Hate None.
