Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The first thing we should notice is that Jesus was given to us. That, alone, is something we should be excited about. God didn’t have to give us His Son but, because of His love for mankind, He did. Through the death and resurrection of His Son, we (those who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior) are made righteous.

In addition to God sending His only Son, God made Him to be a Wonderful Counselor, Everlasting Father, Mighty God, and Prince of Peace. God did not give Jesus these titles for His sake. God gave Jesus these titles so that we can utilize them in every area in our life.

For every decision we need to make, we can call on the name of Jesus because He is our Wonderful Counselor.
A father represents stability in a family. Whenever we need stability in our lives, we can call on the name of Jesus because He is our Everlasting Father.
Might is the ability to get results. Whenever we need to produce results, we can call on the name of Jesus because He is a Mighty God.
For every chaotic thing that may be going on in our life, we can call on the name of Jesus because He is our Prince of Peace.

God loves us that much to send His Son Jesus to do and be all these wonderful things for us. We should do and be everything for Him.
