Have you ever took a test in school and you didn’t know the answers? During that test, wouldn’t it be nice to have all the answers to the test while you were taking the test?
Life is our test and God provided all the answers to this test in the word of God. God provided a cheat sheet to be successful in life.
Why make it hard on yourself? Use your cheat sheet. Meditate on God’s word day and night and you will have good success.
Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
1 John 2:6 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus
The Bible says we ought to live our lives the way Jesus did. Jesus didn’t curse; Jesus didn’t smoke; Jesus didn’t drink; and Jesus always walked in love. People may say Jesus could live that way because He was the Son of God. Well, God’s Word wouldn’t tell us to do something if we were incapable of doing it. Jesus also said in John 14:12 if we have faith in Him (Jesus) we can do greater works than Jesus; which includes walking in obedience. God desires holiness from His children and holiness starts with obedience (1 Peter 1:16).
Be obedient and walk as Jesus did.
Romans 4:17b… God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
We are heirs of God and have been made in His image (Romans 8:17 and Genesis 1:27). Just as He spoke this world into existence, “our world is framed by our words” (@IlyaGolden).
So, whether we declare our obedience to God, or our favor, or prosperity, or growth, or that we have overcome sin tendencies, we mirror our Father. And what we declare shall manifest. Speak life!
Hebrews 3: 12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end; 4:2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Belief moves beyond hope into faith. While it is good to hope that things turn out well, belief and faith say, no matter what I see, all IS well. As believers we are faced with the ongoing mission to remain in faith. Whether we face death, rejection, stress, or overwhelming bondages, we defy all of those with faith. We declare God’s Word over our situation, and we believe. It does not matter if breakthrough manifests within one minute, or ten years, we stand in faith throughout it all and just believe.
Genesis 1:1 tells us, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. When God created the heavens and the earth, He created everything within the heavens and the earth (Gen 1:1-31).
Ephesians 1:3 tells us, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. There is nothing left out when the word “every” is used. This means every promise, every financial breakthrough, every healing, every deliverance, every everything has been created for us since the beginning of time (Genesis 1).
So, when we pray we’re not asking God to create a need or desire, we’re asking God to release that pre-existing need or desire from heavenly places. Once we are certain in our spirits and souls that this promise exists, we must receive these promises by faith. Romans 4:16 says, so the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe.
God has created or prepared everything for us. It’s up to us to use our faith to release and receive these promises in our lives.
Be Blessed.
Hebrews 10:32 Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering.
We all go through trying times – times where our faith is being tested to the limit. During these times, it seems like our change will never come and we’ve been in the storm too long. It’s during these times we have to, on purpose, remember what God did for us in the past. We must recall the time where we were about to give up but, God… God delivered, God healed, God restored, God promoted, etc. The situation or trial may be different but, God and His word remain the same. We have to remind ourselves, if God can do it once, He can do it again. All it takes is one breakthrough moment to meditate on. Focus on the past to prepare for a positive future.
People of God, remember the time.
Previously, we mentioned everyone is not a child of God. We found out there are certain qualifications needed to be a child of God. Those qualifications can be found at: Scriptures of the Day: Children of God Pt. 1.
Most of the time, people want to know why should they become children of God. There is one main benefit or reason for being a child of God: victory.
1 John 5:4 (NIV) For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
The word of God declares the children of God receive victory. Every negative, evil, or perverted trap the enemy or world sets is defeated. It’s not defeated because of our strength or might but, it’s defeated because we are children of God Almighty. Any negative situation we face is defeated. Any bad break we encounter is defeated. Any pit we fall into is defeated. By faith it is defeated. Why?…because we are children of God.
People of God, praise the Lord and forget not his benefits especially the benefit of being a child of the King.
There are some who believe everyone who is born in the earth is a child of God. That’s not true. In order to be a child of God there are some qualifications we must meet.
1. We must believe Jesus is Lord and Savior.
-1 John 5:1 says, Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too.
2. We must do what is right.
-1 John 3:10 says, This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
3. We must love one another.
-1 John 4:7 says, Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.
4. We must hear God’s word.
-John 8:47 He who is a child of God listens to God’s words. You do not listen to them: and why? It is because you are not God’s children.”
These are the qualifiers for being a child of God. Some people may have some of the qualifiers while others have none. For those who call themselves Christians, make every effort to be a complete child of God.
Be Blessed!
*Stay tuned for Part 2 of Children of God to understand the benefits of being a Child of the King.
Psalm 136:23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:
God has an unbelievable amount of patience. In regards to God’s patience, there are two types of people He is dealing with. The first type is “The Blatant” and the second type is the “The Fallen”
1. The Blatant- “The Blatant” is the person who knowingly sins. They knew what they were doing was wrong however, they did it anyway.
2. The Fallen- “The Fallen” is the person who attempts to do what’s right but, continues to make mistakes and sins.
No matter what type of person you are, God still has patience with us.
A form of patience is mercy. Mercy, in God’s eyes, is where we deserve every punishment known to man but, daily, God gives us chance after chance to get it right. To receive this mercy, we have to become children of God by making Jesus Christ Lord and Savior (1 John 5:1). An unbeliever who sins is considered wicked in the eyes of God and nothing else. (I encourage you to make Jesus Lord today.)
This message will not apply to everyone however, if you are “The Blatant” or “The Fallen” don’t get frustrated or give up on pleasing God. Continue to make the adjustments you need to make, and realize God’s patience, or mercy, endures forever.
Be Blessed
Exodus 3:12 And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
Everyone gives credit to Abraham for being the Father of faith because he was the first man to take God at His word. Abraham believed and obeyed God without seeing an ounce of a promise. Although Abraham was the first, there are more inspiring examples regarding men of faith. For example Moses. God told Moses to go to a harsh Pharaoh and tell him to let God’s people go. There was no guarantee that Pharaoh was going to let the children of Israel go. Although Moses was hesitant, Moses believed and obeyed God and eventually the children of Israel were free.
Although we cannot predict the future, we have a God who knows all. If we can get to the point where we believe and obey God’s word, the promises of God will manifest.
Stay Blessed!
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
When life beats us up too bad, it seems difficult to trust, believe, and rely on God. We create reason behind why God is allowing us to go through these storms. Most of the reasons we create do not make logical sense. So, eventually some of us conclude that God can’t or won’t handle these problems and we have to handle these problems ourselves. This conclusion has people not trusting God totally; it has people making decisions without consulting God, and it has people trying to do it all on their own without God’s help. This is not the will of God for our lives.
Although we may be going through tough storms, God is still with us. During these storms God desires us to run to Him not run from Him. Like a child runs to their mother, God desires His children to find safety in His arms. Never stop trusting God; always depend on Him.
John 5:30 “By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.” – Jesus
If Jesus found it more important to please God than his own desires, how much more should we? Let’s focus on being Christ-like and mimic his example. Seek God. Seek His Will. Choose to please God over self; and rely on His strength to do it.
Do you ever have an idea or a dream, and then before you can seek God about if or when that dream is for you, you dismiss it because you think it is impossible to attain?
Our faith reality includes impossibilities. Take that desire, dream, vision, or goal to God. When He confirms, edits, or enhances that dream, begin your faith fight knowing that God will make all necessary provisions for that dream to manifest. Begin the works that you can do toward the manifestation of that goal, and allow God to work out the impossibilities (the things seemingly out of your control). But remember to stay in faith and do not be moved by what you see.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Romans 9:23 Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.
2 Corinthians 4:13 (Weymouth New Testament) But possessing the same Spirit of faith as he who wrote, “I believed, and therefore I have spoken,” we also believe, and therefore we speak.
When we confess God’s word over our life or situation, it may seem like nothing is happening but, in the spirit realm things are moving. The devil will try to convince us that our confessions are useless and in vain. But, the devil is a liar. Hebrews 4:12 says, the word of God is living and active. The more word we speak into our situation, the more life we give it. Eventually, we and everyone else will see the manifestation of our confessions.
No matter how long it takes, just continue to confess and stay in faith, and expect a change to come.
Be Blessed and Confess.
2 Corinthians 4:13 (NIV) It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak,
In order for the promises of God to manifest in our lives, it’s in our best interest to confess God’s word over our situation daily. Sometimes the word of God is hard to receive; especially when we’re in a difficult situation. It’s hard to receive we are healed when we’re coughing, sneezing, and have a high fever. It’s hard to receive we are prosperous when we don’t have enough money to pay our bills. Confessions are designed to convince our soul (mind, will, emotions) that God’s word is more real than our current symptoms or situation. It’s there to say with God all things are possible. It’s there to let us know there is nothing too hard for God.
Never stop speaking the word of God over your life, finances, health and family. For those who have not been making confessions; it’s a good day to start.
Be Blessed and Confess.
The Bible says in Psalm 112:3 that wealth and riches are in our house.
Well, we are in our house. When we honor God and delight in His commands, God in return gives us revelation on ideas, concepts, and inventions. These ideas and inventions cause wealth and riches to be in our house.
As Christians, we are to walk by faith and not by sight. So, in regard to this scripture, we are the source of wealth. Before the physical wealth ever manifests itself in the natural, the wealth was already present within us.
Rejoice because the wealth lies within us.
Psalm 112:3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.
Psalm 20:4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
Have you ever heard someone say, “You may plan one thing but, God planned another.” That’s not in the Bible. That’s just a religious response that people say when their plans don’t come to pass. Most of the time people’s plans don’t succeed because their plans were never edited by God. If a desire or plan comes into our heart, our responsibility is to run that plan by God. God will give us instructions on how to execute this plan, when to start, or if we should start at all. God’s not obligated to bless something He’s not involved in.
God wants our plans to succeed but, He desires more so that we consult Him in all of our endeavours. Don’t settle for the religious excuse. Apply biblical principles to your plan and watch God bless your life tremendously.
Be Blessed
Luke 1: 31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
THE PROMISE: The angel, Gabriel, told Mary she was going to give birth to the Son of God. Although Mary could not physically see the promise, in verse 38, Mary received the promise by faith.
-In the word of God there are promises for us (healing, deliverance, prosperity etc.). Although we may not physically see the promise, our job is to receive the promise by faith.
THE PROCESS: Mary had to wait 9-10 months before her promise came to pass.
-With every promise there is a process. We must have patience during this time. Hebrews 6:12 lets us know we receive the promise of God through faith and patience.
THE POSITION: Can you imagine the position Mary was in? Mary was an unwed pregnant woman walking around claiming she was giving birth to the Son of God. Some people may have labeled her as promiscuous while others called her crazy.
-We should expect negativity to come our way once we receive the promise by faith. This negativity is designed to make us question and doubt what God has said concerning our life.
THE PROMOTION: The promise came to pass. Mary had the opportunity to raise the Savior of the world.
-With faith and righteous works, our promise will come to pass.
Work the principles of faith and the promise will come to pass.
Once we have consulted God on our next steps, confirming that our desires align with His will, we stand in faith. We confess, make declarations, set our works in line with our confession. We remain unmoved by what we see, only moved by what we believe.
Luke 17: 6 And the Lord said, If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say unto this sycamine tree, Be plucked up by the root, and be planted in the sea; and it would obey you.
Hebrews 11: 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
James 2: 18 Yes, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
1 John 2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
1 Thessalonians 5: 16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
It is time to seek God for next steps. The reason why we can make confessions and declarations is because we have given God input on our desires. So, we continue to thank God, but we make time to seek God. Ask Him, and remember to listen. While you may or may not hear a booming voice rehearsing your future, we know that God does not author confusion; there is peace in the things of God.
Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
The scripture implies we should clothe ourselves in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. God is not going to force these qualities on us and these qualities will not automatically develop in us. We have to do our part and develop these qualities in ourselves.
How do we develop these qualities?
Step 1. Ask God in Prayer.
God’s Word says, whatever we desire when we pray, believe that we received them and we shall have them (Mark 11:24).
Step 2: Acknowledge Opportunities.
Once we ask God for these desired qualities, there will be opportunities to develop our qualities. We must recognize these opportunities when they present themselves.
These qualities must be important to God or else He would not have told us to clothe ourselves in these qualities. If these qualities are important to God, they should be important to us.
Develop! Develop! Develop!
Philippians 2:13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
When we are standing in faith for a promise of God, we’re very mindful about what we do or say because we don’t want anything to affect our promise coming to pass. We pray and read more, consult God before an action, give more, and fast. We do all of this to please God in the hopes that our promise is not delayed.
However, once our promise comes to pass, it seems like we can afford to make a mistake. We have what we want from God so, there is no need to please. We shouldn’t do God like that. The reason God provided the blessing in the first place was so that we honor God with our life even more.
We should strive to continue pleasing God no matter what season we’re in.
Ephesians 5:10 and find out what pleases the Lord.
This is a very simple scripture that says, find out what pleases the Lord. We find out what pleases the Lord by reading His word. It is up to us to find out what pleases God. There is not going to be some magical dust that falls from heaven and lands on us and instantly, we know what pleases God. Take the time to find out the “do’s” in His word.
Our efforts are important in this Christian walk. When we’re about our Father’s business, Our Father blesses our business.
Please God!
** Hint** To find out one main thing that pleases God read Hebrews 11:6.
2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
Everyone has had to battle a weakness in their life. From pornography, to homosexuality, to alcoholism, to lying we all have had our fair share of battles. However, wherever we are weak, that’s where Jesus provides grace. Grace is the favor of God on our lives in spite of our ways.
In our trying times, we should receive the grace of God to overcome our weaknesses. The greatest testimonies come from our weaknesses. Receive grace and be delivered.
Have you ever watched the TV show Hoarders? Hoarders are people who consume numerous amounts of property but, they never want give anything away. Eventually, their house gets so cluttered until they can’t even function.
Spiritually speaking, some Christians can be hoarders as well. They consume a lot of knowledge, wisdom, insight, and understanding but, they are not willing to share these concepts with anyone else. They know the word of God backwards and forwards but, they don’t want to help their struggling brother and sister. They have all the time to pray but, they never pray for others. People hoard so many things until the Body of Christ can’t function properly.
People of God we have to give. We must use our time, gifts, and talents for the glory of God and to edify each other.
Isaiah 58:10 Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.
John 16: 8When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; 10in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.
Conviction of sin is for the world (v.9); conviction of righteousness is for believers (v.10). We are designed like our Father. We are created to be in His righteous image (Genesis 1:27; John 4:24).
The Spirit convicts us of righteousness when we fall short so that we can renew our minds (soul) and be more Christ-like. While our spirits have already been made righteous (Romans 5:19), through the continuous renewing of our minds and the supernatural strength of Christ (Philippians 4:13), we can tame our flesh.
2 Corinthians 12: 7b there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8For this thing I besought the Lord three times, that it might depart from me.
9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Most read this passage and assume that Paul is referring to a physical ailment, but according to Isaiah 53:5 and Paul’s unbending faith, Paul would have been healed.
Instead, Paul is referring to weaknesses of the flesh. Those addictions, habits, or tendencies that we pray that God would just remove our desire toward them. But rather, God says He extends grace to those of us ready to overcome and never be deterred by that thorn again. And, we learn that we cannot overcome by will power, but that in our weakness, we choose instead to magnify Christ and we defeat our thorn continuously through God’s power.
Therefore, take pleasure in having the opportunity to defeat the enemy through your obedience to God and reliance on Him.
James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Have you ever wondered why it takes so long for blessings to manifest in our lives when we’re doing everything we know to do right? Could it be the Bible is fulfilling its purpose?
From our prayers to the manifestation of our prayers, there is a waiting period. This waiting period is known as the testing of our faith. Our faith is being tested to see if we continue to believe and stand on the promises of God or not. Verse 4 says, perseverance or patience MUST finish its work so that we may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. This means if we’re still in that waiting period, perseverance may not have finished its work yet. This also also means we may not be fully mature or complete and we may be lacking something.
The waiting period is an opportunity to bring us to greater level of maturity. Some may need maturity in handling the actual blessing, while others need maturity in patience. The point is, before the blessing appears, there is process to produce maturity. Instead of being frustrated or impatient due to the delay, we should ask God “What do you want me to learn during these times?”
Persevere till the end!
James 1:14 Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away.
Temptations come from our evil desires sent by Satan. It doesn’t matter if a person is saved or unsaved, we all will be tempted. If we succumb to these temptations, the devil’s next objective is to bombard us with even more temptations. The next thing you know we find ourselves in a pit of sin. If we try to take the steps to get out, Satan will magnify that pit to the point where some stop trying. If we attempt to turn to God for help, Satan will deceive us and make us feel unworthy to return to the Father.
In order not to allow the temptations to take over our life, we have to nip it in the bud or stop it before it starts. We have to do the necessary things so the temptation won’t spread.
1. We must recognize and acknowledge our temptations.
2. When we’re attacked with temptations, we must send a counter attack through deliverance confessions, prayer, and the renewal of our mind using the word of God.
3. Have an accountability partner. It’s good to have non-judgmental person who can help us, pray for us, and keep us on the right track in life.
At the end of the day it’s up to us. We have to be strong enough to not give in to any temptations the devil throws our way.
Receive Deliverance!
Deuteronomy 30:19 This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live
If we, who call ourselves true Christians, deliberately disobey God and His commandments will that affect our chances to go to heaven? No, because our salvation is not based on works. Our salvation is received by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Does this mean we get to live in disobedience without consequences? Of course not. If we choose to disobey God and His orders, we reap the consequences of poverty, sickness, and an untimely or tragic death.
Our obedience or righteous works we perform on earth entitles us to the blessing (Deut. 28:1-13). The blessing means prospering in every area of our life (marriage, family, health, finances, peace, etc.). When we choose to disobey God, we’re still saved but, this allows the curse to manifest in our life (Deut. 28:15-68). The curse means an empowerment to fail in every area of our life (failing in our marriage, family, health, finances, peace, etc).
So, the quality of our life we have on earth is up to us. We can choose to obey God and experience the blessing or choose to disobey God and experience the curse.
Choose wisely.
Be blessed.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
On face value, this verse would seem to mean every time we (Christians) sin, we can ask God for forgiveness and become righteous in the sight of God again. Well, if that were true, that would make 2 Corinthians 5:21 false. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. Since our righteousness comes from Jesus, the sins we commit will not effect our right standing with God. What 1 John 1:9 means is, the guilty or shameful feeling we may experience in our soul after sinning can be removed with a confession of our wrongdoing. Once we make our confession, we can allow the blood of Jesus to remove our conscious of all unrighteous works (Hebrews 9:14).
As Christians we should not allow the devil to make us feel guilty because of our actions. We are the righteousness of God no matter what mistakes we make. God loves us. There is no sin we can commit that will make God change His mind about us. We are His children and there is nothing no one can do about it.
Be blessed.
