Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

The scripture implies we should clothe ourselves in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. God is not going to force these qualities on us and these qualities will not automatically develop in us. We have to do our part and develop these qualities in ourselves.

How do we develop these qualities?

Step 1. Ask God in Prayer.
God’s Word says, whatever we desire when we pray, believe that we received them and we shall have them (Mark 11:24).

Step 2: Acknowledge Opportunities.
Once we ask God for these desired qualities, there will be opportunities to develop our qualities. We must recognize these opportunities when they present themselves.

These qualities must be important to God or else He would not have told us to clothe ourselves in these qualities. If these qualities are important to God, they should be important to us.

Develop! Develop! Develop!
