2 Thessalonians 1:11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. 12We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

If our life honors God, He honors us; honoring God involves making a consistent effort to do His will.  And when our will is aligned with His will then He fuels our plans and they prosper.  So, while our salvation cannot be earned, and we have already been made righteous (Romans 5:19), we continue to walk in His will and receive the fulfillment of our desires!
