Daniel 6:7 The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or man during the next thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be thrown into the lions’ den.
Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
There comes a time when every Christian needs to take a stand against something. Enough is enough. We shouldn’t want to sit and allow the world to make decisions and laws that go against the Kingdom of God. We shouldn’t want to be in the same spiritual and physical place we were 5 years ago. Take a stand!
Take a stand against seeing friends/loved ones live a miserable life when we can help them apply the Word of God to their life.
Take a stand against that reoccurring sin we’ve been struggling with in our life.
Take a stand against that long time church member who belittles and criticizes everyone who is not on their “level.”
We are not using our might and will power to take a stand but, the Spirit of God who gives power to overcome.
I’m reminded of the song Stand by John P. Kee
Stand for Holiness
Stand for Righteousness
And be counted among them
That shall reign with Him
You stand
When friends are gone
Stand when you’re all alone
And believe He shall receive His own
