1 Peter 2: 9But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
We are forgiven, healed, and restored. Regardless of our previous experiences, we can have an expectation of a fresh abundant life. Let go of the past, not hiding it, but using it as a testimony to show others how merciful, good, and welcoming our God is.
Choose not to live in shame nor guilt, but instead choose to “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:1-5).
