John 2:11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
In John 2:9, Jesus turned water into wine. The Bible calls this His first sign through which he revealed his glory. This implies the glory of the Lord is not only some cosmic bright light from God but, results. When we physically see results of God’s Word manifesting in our lives, the glory of the Lord is revealed.
Also, the glory is not only a spectacle that draws a crowd but, it brings people into a position of belief. There are multiple cases in the Bible where God or Jesus performed miracles that caused people to believe.
Exodus 4:1-9 – Moses feared that the people would not believe God had sent him. So God gave him signs expressly to convince the people to believe.
1 Kings 18:36-39 – God sent fire from heaven (which Baal could not do) so people would know to believe in the true God and that Elijah was acting by God’s authority.
John 3:2 – Nicodemus said people knew Jesus was a teacher come from God, since no one could do the works Jesus did unless God was with him.
In our life today, we should expect the glory of the Lord to be revealed. As a believer, if we have a desire that is located in the Word of God, we have a right to receive it.
Expect the glory of the Lord to manifest and don’t settle for anything less.
