Philippians 1:6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
As believers we are always in a process of ongoing development. While our spirits were perfected the moment we accepted Christ as Savior allowing the Holy Spirit to take over, our soul and flesh are subject to an ongoing process. Be patient with that believer who has yet to reflect Christ in their flesh; be patient with yourself when you fall short of what you think embodies being Christ-like. Continue on in the following process whether you ‘feel’ Christ-like or not:

  1. Pray to and converse with God.
  2. Confess what God says about you (Romans 5:19, Romans 8, Joshua 1:5).
  3. Be patient with yourself (Romans 8:1, 37).
  4. If you seem to regress, repeat steps 1 – 3.
Know that God loves us, as we are – righteous through receiving Christ’s sacrifice, not by our works of the flesh.
