Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if you be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but yours, be done.
Jesus attempted to plead His case with the Father regarding going in a different direction concerning our salvation. His flesh did not want to endure the pain and torture but more importantly, He didn’t want His Spirit to be separated from the Father.
Jesus had to catch Himself and make a “nevertheless” decision. Jesus was showing us anything outside the will of God is considered the less. Our plans will be less impactful, less effective, and less fulfilling.
Whatever God is telling us to do, even if we don’t feel like it or don’t completely understand it, make a nevertheless decision and obey the voice of God.
