Philemon 1:25 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
At times, we’ll hear someone say, “You should be ashamed of yourself.” That’s not true. That’s the basis for guilt and condemnation. Guilt and condemnation does not better the behavior or performance of a person. It only makes people feel worthless inside. For every born again believer, there is no guilt or condemnation to those who are in Christ (Romans 8:1).
Let’s free ourselves from this guilt, shame, or condemnation and receive God’s grace.
For those who are being told something like, “You should be ashamed of yourself,” simply respond by saying, “I don’t receive it, I receive God’s grace.”
For those who are or even think they’re condemning others for their behavior…stop it! There is nowhere in scripture where we are instructed to condemn others for their behavior. We are to pray for and hold others accountable but, never condemn.
Receive God’s grace!
