1 Peter 5:6 (AMP) Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,
There are going to be times when God will ask us to do something seemingly beneath us. He may ask us to pick up a piece of trash from the ground or give a total stranger a ride to work. Whatever God asks of us, just do it. Our humility, through our obedience, honors God, allows us to be a blessing, and provides a harvest from the seed we have sown.
John 13:3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
If Jesus, the Savior of the entire world, could wash the feet of His disciples, what makes us think we can’t humble ourselves for the sake of the Kingdom?
People of God…humility.
