Luke 10:38-42 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

We can watch a two and a half hour movie without complaining because the movie appeals to our flesh. Movies don’t benefit us in any way. The thing that greatly benefits us like, entering the presence of God, seems like a chore because our flesh is fighting our spirit. But, how many of us get into the presence of God for two and a half hours? Our holiness is not based on the amount of time we spend in the presence of God but, we should want to spend some time with our Creator, Provider, and Father. We’re talking about a God Who knows the future and knows the plans He has for us. A few minutes a day doesn’t seem that significant with a God Who has done so much for us.

Let’s make an effort to spend a considerable amount of time with God every day.
