Romans 7:18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
Everyday it’s a battle between our spirit and our flesh. Our spirit wants to do what’s right but, our flesh wants to do everything that opposes the written and spoken Word of God. It would be easier for us to give in to our flesh but, that would not honor God. God honors those who submit their will to Him.
This battle can be mentally exhausting at times but, the rewards of staying on a righteous path are great. The enemy will attempt to minimize the benefits of holiness and magnify the current issues. If an issue is resolved, the enemy will magnify another issue we’re still facing.
We have to renew our mind and magnify all that the Lord has done. Praise God that we have not been sick in a year. Praise God that we have not been burglarized nor had a car accident. Praise God for Jesus Whose blood allows us to receive forgiveness from our past, present, and future sins. Praise God that we are blessed.
