Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Ephesians 6:10 – 18 discusses how we overcome. First, we are instructed to be strong in the Lord, indicating the importance of recognizing that we don’t have to, nor should we, fight alone. Through Christ, we win!
Next, we are instructed to prepare ourselves for battle. We should understand that the opposition we face may look physical, but has spiritual roots. That indicates that we must not only persevere in our bodies, but most importantly, we should maximize our spiritual resources. We do that by drawing near to God, studying His Word, continuing to remain in faith, praying, and developing our spiritual walk so that we are led by the Spirit of God.
So, press on; don’t be dissuaded by setbacks because they are only temporary. Know that you do overcome!
