Psalms 1:2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.
Our flesh hates studying and meditating on the Word of God. It hates turning off TV shows, getting off Facebook, and hanging up the phone with our friends. Our flesh despises the Word of God but, that is one of the most beneficial things we can do.
We can expect the following after meditating in the Word of God:
Psalm 1:3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water…
1. The Word of God keeps us anchored. We’re unshakable when we have true knowledge and confidence in the Word of God. No situation, circumstance, or troubling experience will make us lose hope in the Word of God.
2. …ready to bring forth its fruit in its season;…
The Word of God will position us to be in the right environment to be fruitful and productive. No longer will we have to rely on our worldly education and experience. The Word of God will cause us to be fruitful.
3. …its leaf also shall not fade or wither;…
The Word of God will keep us rejuvenated. When everyone else is drained due to certain circumstances, we will be energized, inspired, and empowered.
4. …and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].
The Word of God will cause us to prosper in everything we do. There will be no more try and fail. We have a guaranteed promise of prosperity. And when that prosperity manifests itself, the Word of God will keep us mature to handle it properly.
Let’s spend time in the Word of God and reap the benefits of meditation.
