In the old covenant, only the high priest could enter the Most Holy Place. No man could stand before God with sin. So, when the priest entered the Most Holy Place, he had to have the blood of calves and goats for his sins and the sins of his people.

In the new covenant, when we get born-again, our bodies become the Most Holy Place because we are temples of the Holy Spirit according to 1 Corinthians 6:19. To this day, no man can stand before God with sin. There is something that allows God’s presence to continually dwell in us. That something is the blood of Jesus Christ.

For the born-again believer, we have constant access to the most holy place. Contrary to religious belief, the Holy Spirit doesn’t leave us when we sin. The Holy Spirit is ever-present due to the fact the blood of Jesus Christ continuously flows on the mercy-seat of God. We are forever sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30).

Thank you Jesus for our constant access to God.

Hebrews 9:12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
