2 Corinthians 5:7 says we ought to walk by faith and not by sight. Let’s extend this to say, walk by faith and not by sight nor by the negative experiences of our past. If we focus on the negative experiences of our past, those negative experiences can dissolve our faith.
Example: Initially, a married couple can stand strong in faith to have a child. After making numerous attempts to have a child, a married couple can become discouraged if time has passed and a child is not conceived. That couple has a choice to make. They can focus on the fact that they have tried numerous times to have a child and it didn’t work or continue to believe that with God, all things are possible.
Our present conditions can change with a constant belief in the Word of God. It’s up to us to focus our attention on the supernatural abilities of God and not the negative experiences of our past.
Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
