So many people think you need to be in the ministry or be able to quote numerous verses in order to be used by God. That’s not so. All we need is a submissive heart and a desire to be used.

In John 4, Jesus speaks to a promiscuous woman at the well. First, Jesus catches the woman’s attention when He speaks about water where she will never thirst again. Secondly, He maintains her attention by getting personal and letting her know He’s aware of her present and her past. Finally, Jesus reveals to her that He is the Christ.

At that moment, the woman had a choice to make. She could have been amazed within herself or tell the world about Jesus. This promiscuous woman decided to put her shame, her fears, and her reputation aside and be a witness for the Lord. In the eyes of the religious, she had no right to be a witness but, in spite of her past, God used her to tell the world about Jesus.

No matter where we are in life or what we’ve done, push your shame aside and be used by God (Acts 1:8). We can start off by sharing the goodness of the Lord on our status updates, wearing biblical uplifting t-shirts or, casually refer to the goodness of the Lord in our conversations.

Start somewhere and be used by God.

John 4:28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
