Psalms 30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

The anger or wrath of God was poured out on Jesus Christ. Every negative thing we should have experienced, Jesus received on our behalf. That anger was only for a moment. Because Jesus fulfilled the will of God, God is no longer angry with Jesus and He is no longer angry with us. Jesus paid the penalty of sin so that we can experience the blessing.

As we can see, included in the blessing is a lifetime of favor from God. Favor is God raising up someone somewhere to use their power, ability, influence, or finances to help us. As born-again believers, if we believe, we can expect to experience a lifetime of God’s favor.

Secondly, we can experience a lifetime supply of joy. Yes, we will experience trouble, however, we can rejoice because Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33). And because we are joint heirs with Christ, we too have overcome every troubling experience we’ll ever face. So, be joyful because of God’s favor. Be joyful because we overcome. Be joyful because of the wonderful blessed life we get to experience because of Jesus Christ.
