Genesis 2:18 The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
There are some who think they don’t need anyone else while in this world. All they need is God. This kind of thinking is actually contrary to the Word of God. As we can see, from the beginning, God Himself made it clear that it’s not good for mankind to be alone. If God, our Creator, said it’s not good for man to be alone, surely He knows what we need. God knows it’s in our best interest to be sociable.
Some may say, all I need in this life is God and my spouse. This kind of thinking is also contrary to the Word of God. For instance, in James 5:14 it says, Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. We may be sick physically or emotionally. By not being sociable, we limit our avenues to maintain this healing Jesus provided.
Finally, in Hebrews 10:25 it says, Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching. We may not need encouragement that day, but God may use us to encourage someone else.
Socializing has been a component of God’s plan from the beginning. Receive a blessing or be a blessing by socializing with others.
