1 Samuel 17:45 NLT David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
When Goliath talked all that trash, David responded by saying, “I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” David coming in the name of the Lord gave him the victory.
When Goliath-like situations come in your life, how do you respond? Do you come in the knowledge found on WebMD when sickness attacks your body? Do you come in the information found in self-help books when negative thoughts attack your mind? Or in any situation, do you come in the name of the Lord?
When we come in the name of the Lord, we’ll defeat anything the devil throws our way. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10).
