2 Timothy 4:16-17 NLT The first time I was brought before the judge, no one came with me. Everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them. But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death.
Some of us may have been abandoned. Some of our parents abandoned us, our spouse may have abandoned us, and/or our children may have abandoned us. Regardless of who’s abandoned us, God has not. He stands with us forever.
He told us that He’ll never leave us nor forsake us. He’ll be with us until the end of time. So, we don’t have to accept the label of having abandonment issues. It’s sad when people who claim they love us leave us, but that’s not God. He’s always there.
He’ll give us the strength to overcome that hurt and He’ll either reconcile that damaged relationship or replace that person with someone better. God has not nor will He ever abandon you.
