Genesis 26:4-5 I will cause your descendants to become as numerous as the stars of the sky, and I will give them all these lands. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed. I will do this because Abraham listened to me and obeyed all my requirements, commands, decrees, and instructions.”
Because Abraham obeyed God, Isaac and his children were prosperous.
As parents, our obedience to God now can positively impact our children’s and grandchildren’s future. As we honor God, trust Him, and do what He says, He promised to bless and prosper our lives (Job 36:11). The blessing can continue on until our ceiling becomes our children’s floor.
When a decision needs to be made and you have a choice to obey God or follow your flesh, think about the possibility of your descendants benefiting from your obedience. Let’s honor God so that our legacy can benefit from our relationship with God.
