2 Corinthians 7:8-9 NLT I am not sorry that I sent that severe letter to you, though I was sorry at first, for I know it was painful to you for a little while. Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way.
If we truly love someone and we want to see them change for the better, we’ll have to have difficult conversations with them.
It could be a conversation from a parent to a child about the foolish choices they’re making. It could be a conversation from a child to a parent on how their criticism makes them feel. It could be a conversation (not an argument) between a husband and a wife on how they can improve. It can even be a conversation from a believer to an unbeliever about salvation.
Difficult conversations are necessary if we want to see improvements in a person’s life. Don’t be afraid to have conversations with these people and let the Holy Spirit tell you what to say.
