Matthew 4:23-24 NLT Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed—he healed them all.
We may hear people say, “I want to experience the supernatural.” If we’re born again, we experience the supernatural daily. Every time we pray to God, we’re experiencing the supernatural. Every time we hear instructions from God, we’re experiencing the supernatural. When faith comes after hearing God’s word, we’re experiencing the supernatural.
When people say they want to experience the supernatural, what they really mean is they want to experience the spectacular. They want to receive a $10,000 check in the mail. They want that chronic pain they’ve been dealing with to suddenly be gone. They want their wayward child to return, wanting salvation. These things may not happen daily.
Don’t devalue the supernatural by always looking for the spectacular. If we value the supernatural occurrences we receive on a daily basis, we’ll eventually experience more and more of the spectacular.
