Colossians 3:23-24 AMPC Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward. [The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ (the Messiah).
Whatever gifts God has given us or skills we’ve aquired should be used to benefit, advance, and expand the Kingdom of God. These gifts and skills aren’t limited to ministering or singing. It could be any gift or skill we have.
If we have the talent to fix things, we should find opportunities to fix things in a church or for a Christian-based organization. If we easily understand finances and how money works, we should be teaching financial literacy to the citizens in the Kingdom of God. If we enjoy law enforcement related activities, we should use those skills to protect individuals who come into the house of God.
This doesn’t mean we can’t use our gifts and talents in the world, but we should also be using them to benefit the Kingdom of God. Let the Holy Spirit show you what area to be in and do it for the Kingdom.
