Matthew 23:25 NLT “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence!
From the platform to the floor, be mindful of hypocrites. They’ll say one thing, but do another.
They’ll tell us not to fornicate but have romantic relationships on the side. They’ll tell us not to drink alcohol, but they have hidden liquor cabinets in their houses. They’ll even state we should feel guilty about a sin for a period of time. Meanwhile, they’re attempting to shake the guilt off for something they’ve done as quickly as possible.
These hypocrites make people not want to honor God. People see their deception and realize the phoniness of it all and create their own truth.
Let God’s word be the standard instead of actions of mankind.
