Matthew 17:15-18 NKJV “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
There are a lot of people, believers included, who accept mental disorders and psychological phenomenons for themselves. They’ll accept that they have depression, anxiety, imposter syndrome, trauma issues, or some other psychological label. It may be a fact that a person displays symptoms of mental disorders, but facts can change. They don’t have to be permanently bound by that label.
When people accept mental disorders for themselves, they limit the power of God in their lives. Because they believe the diagnosis that they read online or was given to them and confess the diagnosis by telling others, they have more faith in the disorder than they do in the healing power of God’s word.
If our mental health is being negativly impacted, don’t accept the label. That’s not who God says you are. Because of Jesus Christ, we are healed and we have God-given ability of self-control (1 Pet. 2:24; 2 Tim. 1:7). Accept what God says about you and nothing else.
