Psalms 106:20 NLT They traded their glorious God for a statue of a grass-eating bull.

It’s crazy to think that the Israelites saw all the miracles the Lord did and still created an idol for themselves. They saw God rain fire from heaven, send locusts, and part the Red Sea, but when they became impatient and fearful, they quickly decided to make themselves a golden god.

It’s crazy, but some of us do similar things. We’ve seen how God healed our bodies and kept us from a wreck, but we become impatient with God’s timing for provision so, we go against God’s will for a glorified piece of paper (money). Or, we become fearful that we’ll end up alone so we compromise our morals for a virtual like. Some of us jeopardize our freedom for respect or to impress others.

Money, a relationship, likes, or respect shouldn’t be our god. That’s a bad trade. God should be our God. When we do things His way, we’ll have the money, relationships, and the necessary approval of some (Matt. 6:33). The point is, never trade God for anything.
