Psalms 111:1 NLT Praise the Lord! I will thank the Lord with all my heart as I meet with His godly people.

Even before the birth of the church, meeting with other godly people was encouraged.

Today, people have so many reasons why they don’t or won’t attend church. They’ll talk about the effort it takes to get there, not liking the preaching styles of ministers, the “manipulation” they experience from pastors to get their money, or the fact that they can watch online.

There are some benefits in being part of a body of believers.
1. Weekly, we can support or be supported by other believers (Prov. 27:17).
2. We can come together corporately and worship the Father. 
3. Our faith can be strengthened by what we hear (Rom. 10:17).
4. We can show our appreciation for all that God has done by serving others in His Kingdom.

We don’t have to attend a traditional church as we know it. We can join a small group of believers at a coffee shop weekly and worship God, discuss His goodness, and explain what He’s revealed to us through His word.

It’s selfish to think that because you’re not getting something out of being around other believers, you would rather not go. We have testimonies, an encouraging word, and prayers that could benefit someone else. If being around other believers doesn’t encourage you, at least show the love of God by being an encouragement to someone else.
