Psalms 113:7-8 NLT He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, even the princes of His own people!
God is the lifter. He lifts us from anywhere. If we’re broke, He’ll increase our finances. If we’re sad, He’ll lift our spirits to make us happy again. If we’re ignorant in certain areas, He’ll increase our intelligence, knowledge, and wisdom in those areas.
This lift won’t happen automatically. We must cooperate with Him to be lifted. This means reading financial literacy books when He tells us to. This means keeping our minds on positive and lovely things to keep ourselves from depressing thoughts (Phil. 4:8). This means possibly fasting to gain clarity to hear His voice so we’ll know what to do.
Once we’re lifted, like Joseph, He’ll put us before great people. We’ll be lifted to execute God’s will in the earth, share God’s love, wisdom, and grace with others, and better the world around us.
