Psalms 115:16 NLT The heavens belong to the Lord, but He has given the earth to all humanity.
The earth was given by God to mankind. God is the owner, but He’s made us responsible for managing this planet (Ps. 24:1). So, whatever we allow on this earth, will be allowed and whatever we don’t allow on this earth, won’t be allowed (Matt. 16:19).
This means God’s not running the earth. We are. We further see mankind’s dominion over the earth in Genesis 1:26 where it says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
To properly manage earth and to see God’s will be done, we need His help. As we can see in society, without God’s help, we’ve made a mess of this earth. There are wars, adultery, and what’s right is wrong and what’s wrong is right. We may not be able to stop every bad thing from happening, but we can make our world around us better. We can make this earth better by using the believer’s authority that Jesus died to provide (Luke 10:19; Matt. 16:19).
Let’s read and obey God’s word, pray, and be led by the Holy Spirit. That way, we can make this world a better place.
