Psalms 131:1-3 NLT Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I don’t concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me to grasp. Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself, like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother’s milk. Yes, like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, put your hope in the Lord— now and always.

There are things in life that will rattle our faith. We may have abruptly lost our jobs, experienced the death of a loved one, or have gone through a messy divorce.

If these things happen, we don’t need to carry those cares. We don’t need to concern ourselves with the situation or think of things we could’ve done better. Carrying these cares and concerns brings stress and stress affects our health.

What we should do is calm ourselves by trusting in God’s word. He is the solution to every problem. He is our peace, He is our joy, He is our provider, and He is our comforter.

Whatever we’re lacking during troubled times, find what we need in God’s word, and meditate on these scriptures. As we meditate, supernatural peace and provision will manifest in our lives.

Focusing on the problem brings stress, but focusing on and trusting the truth in God’s word brings life and peace.
