Philippians 4:8 NLT And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

This is God’s word to us. God wouldn’t ask us to do something that was impossible. If He instructs us to think a certain way, surely we can do it.

God’s word instructs us to fix our thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise. All the other garbage that enters our minds can be replaced with these things.

We can’t control what enters our minds, but we can control what stays in our minds. 

Controlling our thoughts controls our lives. Our lives will go the direction of our thoughts. If our thoughts are depressing, fearful, and negative, that’s where our lives will go if it’s not there already. We can’t expect a prosperous life with negative thoughts. However, when we consistently think on good, excellent, and praiseworthy things, our lives will match our thoughts. 

If we find ourselves thinking negatively, don’t stay there. Replace those thoughts with thoughts that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise.

Hebrews 10:20-22 NLT By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Because of the blood of Jesus, we can boldly enter the presence of God (Hebrews 10:19). We don’t need a priest or someone else to intercede for us. We can boldly approach God on our own. 

The blood also cleanses our conscience of guilt. We ALL miss the mark. Some of us miss it more than others. Because God is holy and awesome, a guilty conscience makes us feel unworthy to be in His presence. It makes us feel ashamed to ask Him for something. That guilty feeling of deliberately dishonoring God and letting Him down has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

Our conscience being cleansed is received by faith. There’s nothing we can sense or feel that confirms we’ve been forgiven. We must believe that Jesus’s blood cleansed us of all our past, present, and future sins. So, let that guilty feeling go and boldly approach Him as if you’ve done nothing wrong.

Praise God for the blood of Jesus. Without it, we all would be lost.

We can enter the presence of God because of the blood of Jesus. It’s not our good works, righteous behavior, or being sinless that gives us access to God. It’s the blood. 

Sometimes, people feel unworthy to approach God themselves. They feel like God wouldn’t hear or answer their prayer because of their sin. So, they have a priest or someone they felt who lives a holy life to intercede for them. This is sin consciousness.

Every single one of us (priest included) misses the mark and falls short of God’s glorious standards (Rom. 3:23). We may be acting better than someone else, but God isn’t comparing us to someone else. He has a standard, and if we break one law, we’re guilty of breaking them all (James 2:10). The ONLY way we can approach God is through the blood of Jesus. His sacrifice gives us 100% access and acceptance with God. 

Don’t let satanic thoughts or anyone else tell you that you can’t be in the presence of God because of this or that. It’s the blood of Jesus alone that gives us access to God.

2 Corinthians 1:19 NLT For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says.

In Christ, when it comes to God’s promises, it’s always Yes. Through Christ, God will do exactly what He said in His word. His promises aren’t based on our performance or behavior. It will always be yes.

Now, our unbelief can stop His Yes from coming to pass. God wants to freely give and give, but if we doubt His ability or think we weren’t good enough to receive God’s promises, they won’t manifest. That’s not on God. That’s on us. 

Whatever need or desire you have, come to God expecting to receive. He’s already approved it. Now let your faith in His Yes receive it.

John 8:12-14 NLT Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” The Pharisees replied, “You are making those claims about yourself! Such testimony is not valid.” Jesus told them, “These claims are valid even though I make them about myself. For I know where I came from and where I am going, but you don’t know this about me.

Jesus knew who He was. He said He’s the light of the world. The Pharisees’ lack of validation didn’t shake Jesus’s confidence or belief about Himself.

There may be some Pharisees in our own lives that attempt to discredit the truth about us. They may say we’re ugly, unworthy, unlovable, unintelligent, and more. We must know the truth about ourselves. The truth is what God says about us in His word (John 17:17). Anything else is a lie. 

Once we know the truth, like Jesus, we can boldly make claims about ourselves. We can say we’re loved by God regardless of how we perform (Rom. 8:31-39). We can say we’re blessed despite what circumstances look like (Gal. 3:14). We can say we’re healed regardless of the pain (1 Pet. 2:24). Don’t look for validation. Just declare who God says you are.

Judges 6:14-16 NLT Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!” “But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!” The Lord said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.”

Like Gideon, some of us have so many excuses as to why we can’t do what God called us to do. We’ll use excuses like not having enough money, not being married, not having the education and experience, or our age. None of that matters when God calls us to do something.

The answer to all of our excuses is God being with us.  When we know God is with us, we’ll overcome every obstacle we’ll face. He’ll supply the finances, He’ll cause us to have favor with people, and He’ll open a door we didn’t even know existed. 

Don’t let your excuses be bigger than God. If God called us to do it, surely He’ll see it through.

Jeremiah 6:16 NLT This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’

It’s been said that God’s ways are old-fashioned and for a different time. Things like the sanctity of marriage, disciplining children, no sex before marriage, and simply being a blessing are said to be for a different generation. Since so many people feel like God’s ways are not for them, they go by however they feel or whatever society says is acceptable. 

When people do whatever they feel, they’re deceived into thinking they’re living in freedom. Little do they know, they’re giving Satan access to their lives (Ephesians 4:22-27). Relationships are toxic, depression is high, children are killing each other, and there’s no discipline for their flesh. 

Meanwhile, the old way, God’s way, is still available. It’s not only available, but it promises rest for our souls (mind, will, imagination, emotions, and intellect). God’s way also makes us wise, joyful, and insightful (Psalm 19:7-11).

At the end of the day, like the scripture says, it’s a crossroad. It’s a decision we have to make. Will we follow our own path, which leads to chaos or choose the old way, which leads to life and peace?

Acts 26:20 AMPC But made known openly first of all to those at Damascus, then at Jerusalem and throughout the whole land of Judea, and also among the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works and live lives consistent with and worthy of their repentance.

A lot of people gave their lives to Christ recently for Resurrection Sunday. They said a prayer of faith, believed in their hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, and some were baptized.

That’s excellent. However, after we repent, we need to live a life consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ. We need to love, forgive, give, be a blessing, use our authority to heal and deliver, and flee from sin. It doesn’t mean we’ll live a perfect life, but with the Holy Spirit’s help, we can make our lives a living sacrifice (Rom. 12:1). This means we’re denying our flesh the right to control our lives. By making Jesus Lord, we’re letting the Holy Spirit govern our decisions. 

Don’t just say the prayer of faith and live how you want to live. Honor His sacrifice by doing good works and living a life consistent with and worthy of our repentance.

2 Corinthians 1:9 NLT In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.

Whenever we face a troubling situation, it’s important to rely on God and not ourselves.

Our natural tendency is to figure out how to get out of this terrible predicament solely. We may search the internet to see what “experts” have to say. We may ask someone who has gone through a similar situation. We may use our logic to figure it out. All of this sounds wise, but if it didn’t come from God, it’s self effort.

When an unfortunate event happens, first ignore your flesh because it’s going to be screaming, DO SOMETHING!!! Next, calmly ask God what to do. Listen to His voice and do exactly that. It may seem illogical, but do it anyway. After that, see what else He has to say. Do this until the situation changes. It may take some time to see a change, but don’t try to speed it up by doing something yourself. If we miss the mark by trying to fix it in our flesh, let His grace abound (Romans 5:20).

If the great Paul had to learn this lesson, we do too. Rely on God and not ourselves.

Proverbs 3:26 NLT for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.

God is our security. He protects us from all sides. As our security, His job is to ensure that we don’t get caught in traps. This means we need to be listening to what He’s saying as we go through life. If He tells us to go left, we should go left. If He tells us to not take the job, we shouldn’t take the job. If He tells us to start exercising, we should start exercising. To avoid traps we can’t see, whatever our security tells us to do, we should do it. This doesn’t mean we’re exempt from trouble, but we minimize its impact on our lives. 

God is our security. We should know we’re safe with Him. And since He’s always with us, we should feel safe all the time wherever we go. We were never meant to be our own security. Our job is to rely on Him. Unless He tells you, stop putting a gun in every room of the house. Let Him protect you and your family. Stop checking the stock market every hour. Let Him secure your finances. Stop being nervous when you leave the house. He’s our protection.

We don’t have to worry about a thing. Just rely on our security and we can live an enjoyable care-free life.

Revelation 5:12 NLT And they sang in a mighty chorus: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered— to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”

Jesus is the Lamb. He sacrificed His life totally for us. He didn’t have to do it, but because of His love, He took on all of our punishment. Everything that was meant for us, He took it instead.

For that, we say, worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered. Because of His ultimate sacrifice, He’s entitled to power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing. This is not only meant for Him. We have access to these things, too. God made us joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:16-17). Since we’re joint heirs with Christ, this is available for every born-again believer.

These seven things we have access to, through Christ, are all we need to be successful in every way. Our success is His glory. Every time we succeed in any situation, God is glorified.

Praise God for giving us all the tools we need to overcome and be successful. It’s through Christ and for God’s glory.

Psalms 105:4 NLT Search for the Lord and for His strength; continually seek Him.

Seeking God is a priority when we really need an answer to which job to take, how to manage our finances, if we should get surgery, or who to marry. We’ll fast and pray for those types of answers, but what about when things are going well?

When things are going well, we have a tendency to push God to the back. If we have a good job, we’re financially good, we’re healthy, and our family is prospering. The tendency is to minimize God.

As we can see, God’s word instructs us to continually seek Him. This means when we need answers and when life is going in a positive direction.

With God, there’s always something to do. Feed the poor, mentor the youth, work on ourselves, or be a blessing to someone else. Just because life is going great doesn’t mean we shouldn’t seek God. In every situation under every circumstance, seek the Lord.

In the old covenant, God’s word prophetically spoke to all of us. It’s instructing us to kiss or pay homage to or submit to God’s Son. Who is God’s Son? Jesus.

The consequence of not submitting to Jesus is destruction. It’s not God destroying us. We destroy ourselves by not accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9).

One decision will cause us to experience the wrath of God or His everlasting love. Please submit to God by making Jesus Christ Lord and Savior.

1 Chronicles 16:11 NLT Search for the Lord and for His strength; continually seek Him.

It’s great that we wake up early in the morning or carve out some time at night to spend time with God.  It beats not spending time with Him at all. But if that’s the only time we spend with Him, we’re missing out on His wisdom, help, strength, and advice throughout the day.

God wants us to communicate with Him all throughout the day. He’s happy with our 30 minutes to an hour in the morning or night, but think about all the fellowship we’re missing out on by limiting Him to a specific time. Think of it this way, how strong would our relationship be with our spouse if we only spoke to them once a day? Not very strong.

So, wake up in the morning, spend time in His word, and talk to Him. Next, receive advice on what to wear, what to eat for breakfast, and what route we should go to work. At work, let Him lead you on what to do first and how to handle that customer or supervisor. Ask for guidance during the afternoon when you’re managing your family and preparing dinner. Finally, converse with Him at night and receive His love, forgiveness, and correction.

Romans 8:14 NLT For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

The Holy Spirit is our best help in life. He teaches us all things (John 14:26). We’ll be empowered by Him (Acts 1:8). If we’re wise, we’ll allow Him to make all our decisions for us.

He’ll show us how to make life more enjoyable. He’ll keep us free from exhaustion. He’ll stop us from making a mistake. He’ll make major tasks seem effortless. He’ll help us with our parenting and our finances. Whatever we need Him for, He’s there to help us. Even something minor like what to wear for an event.

Let’s train our ear on discerning the voice of the Holy Spirit. Since Jesus gifted us the Holy Spirit, surely we need him every day.

John 14:16-17 NLT And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

There is a time and a season for everything. The chapter goes on to list examples such as, a time to tear down and a time to build up, a time to cry and a time to laugh, and a time to grieve and a time to dance.

Once again, there’s a time and a season for everything. Here are more examples that aren’t mentioned but are beneficial in our daily lives.
There’s a time to work and a time to call it quits for the day. There’s a time to clean up and a time to rest. A time to take on another responsibility and a time to say, “No.” There’s a time to give and a time to save.

The only consistent one that can help us with these times is the Holy Spirit. It may seem logical to keep working, but the Holy Spirit knows that our children need our undivided attention. It may seem noble to take on another responsibility, but the Holy Spirit knows how to keep us from being burnt out. It may seem wise to save money by not buying those shoes, but the Holy Spirit helps us enjoy the fruit of our labor. 

Every single day, consult the Holy Spirit on when, where, and how to do something.

Romans 8:35-37 NLT Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Negative circumstances have a tendency to make us question God’s love for us. He may have done some wonderful things for us over the past 2 years, but as soon as trouble comes, questions about God’s love for us may enter our minds.

First of all, these questions are demonically influenced. Satan will use anything to get us into doubt and unbelief. If he can make us doubt God’s love, it’s like a domino effect. Nothing else will work.

Secondly, our circumstances have nothing to do with God’s love for us. In fact, if we face circumstances, this is evidence of God’s love for us. How? With every circumstance we face, He’s preordained victory. As we believe He’s already given us the victory over thoughts of depression, being laid off, or family problems, this should reenforce His love for us. 

Despite what we face, God loves us. He loves us when things are going well, and He loves us when we face challenges. Don’t ever doubt God’s love for you.

Jeremiah 1:19 NLT They will fight you, but they will fail. For I am with you, and I will take care of you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Most, if not all of our fights, will be faith fights. Situations will come against us. It may be financial situations, health issues, lack of sleep, unfair treatment at our jobs, or problems in our marriages. Whatever fight that comes to us, it will fail. As long as we keep our faith, hope, and dependence on God’s word, God will take care of it, and it will not succeed against us.

Now, if we see the problems bigger than God or if we try to go at it without Him, the situation could get worse, but here’s the good news. Even if we dig ourselves in a deeper hole through doubt, self-effort, or unbelief, as soon as we turn and depend on God, He’ll take care of it all.

With God by our sides, we will never fail. Trust and depend on Him.

Implementation is the process of putting a decision or plan into effect; execution.

We can hear the word of God, read the word, and talk about the word daily, but if we don’t implement it in our lives, it does us no good.

To get the best results, we must implement all of God’s word in our lives. What good does it do us if we implement the word we know we can do in our own strength but not do the word that seems impossible or foolish to us? This includes loving someone who just disrespected us, giving to receive, and having joy when everything in us wants to be sad or depressed. 

If God’s word says we have something, we can do something, or we can resist something it’s time to implement His word in our lives.

Implement God’s word in every area of your lives.

This statement is a negative perspective that magnifies the problems we’re experiencing. Instead of magnifying the problem, highlight our God in the solution.

Change your perspective and say the following:
It’s another opportunity for God to show Himself mighty.
It’s another opportunity to experience the favor of God.
It’s another opportunity to see God provide.
It’s another opportunity to experience God’s healing power.

Negative things will happen, but our response to those negative things will determine who we trust.

Proverbs 13:15 KJV Good understanding giveth favour: But the way of transgressors is hard.

Life has difficulties on its own, but sometimes, we make our lives harder than necessary. The bible promises a hard life when we knowingly and intentionally go against God’s word just to satisfy the flesh. We may think we’re having “fun,” but we’re actually making our lives more difficult. 

Intentionally going against God’s word creates health issues, financial problems, bad habits we can’t seem to stop, and relationship issues. People have been deceived into thinking these negative events are a part of life, but they are not. They’re natural consequences for going against the word of God. All of these things can be minimized, if not eradicated, just by making a decision to honor God with our lives. We’ll never be perfect, but our efforts to honor God are applauded, and if we do miss the mark, His grace abounds (Rom. 5:20).

Life can be so much easier and enjoyable by doing things God’s way. Give God’s way a try, and He guarantees you’ll be living the abundant life Jesus wants you to have (John 10:10).

Exodus 3:15 NLT God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations.

Abraham was called by God, and he had a covenant with God. He obeyed God, and he was willing to sacrifice his Son Isaac for God.

Isaac relied on, honored, and worshipped God (Genesis 26:24-25). Because he was the son of Abraham, he also had a covenant with God.

Jacob, on the other hand, was a trickster. He deceived his poor sighted father into giving him his older brother’s blessing. In spite of Jacob’s deceptive ways, God chose to honor the blessing that was passed down from Isaac. God eventually gave Jacob land, descendants, protection, and a supernatural business (Genesis 28-30).

Some of us may not have been as honorable as Abraham and Isaac. Some of us have a past similar to Jacob. We may have lied, cheated, and deceived, but guess what? God made a covenant with Abraham and Jesus (Gal. 3:16). Our faith in Jesus allows us to reap the benefits of this covenant. So, even though we’ve done wrong, our faith in Christ allows us to have protection, provision, blessings, etc. Regardless of what we’ve done, because God honors His covenant, He still chooses to be our God.

Thank God He’s not using our behavior to determine how good He’ll be to us. Praise God He is also the God of Jacob.

Some people look at themselves and think they’re undeserving of God’s love, grace, mercy, and blessings. They look at themselves and see a work in progress. They see their imperfections, shortcomings, and sins. They even compare their “good behavior” with someone else, but God’s not comparing us against each other. He’s comparing us to His holy standards. And if we fail in one area, we’re guilty of breaking them all (James 2:10).

Here’s good news. Anyone who hasn’t met God’s perfect holy standards is qualified for His grace. The fact that we don’t have it altogether qualifies us to receive the best of God. He’s not looking at our righteous ways. He’s looking at the righteousness of Christ. When our faith is in Christ, God treats us as if we’ve kept His law perfectly. And no, it’s not a mixture of our righteousness and Jesus’s righteousness. It’s all of Christ and none of us.

When we recognize that our righteousness is pathetic and our only hope is to rely on Jesus, who perfectly kept God’s standards on our behalf, then we’re qualified for everything God has for us.

Romans 3:22-24 NLT We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

Luke 10:19 NLT Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.

Jesus has given us authority of all the power over the enemy. Satan can’t just walk down the street and put cancer on him, dementia on her, panic attacks on them, and syphilis on us. He can’t do that. The power has been given to us.

At the same time, whatever we allow in our lives will be allowed. Whatever we forbid in our lives will be forbidden (Matthew 18:18). Since we live in a fallen world, negative things will naturally happen. If we don’t use our authority, negative things will remain.

When we’re experiencing something we don’t like, WE have the power to literally remove it from our lives. It’s not God’s responsibility. It’s ours.

Don’t just allow life to happen to you. Use the authority to change any outcome.

John 12:3 NLT Then Mary took a twelve-ounce jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard, and she anointed Jesus’ feet with it, wiping his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance.

Mary was so moved by who Jesus was and what He’s done for her until the common “thank you” wasn’t enough. Mary’s gratefulness led her to worship Jesus in an unusual way. Mary took this expensive perfume and wiped the feet of Jesus with her hair and tears.

When we know God and only God has done great things, our worship should match our gratefulness. We shouldn’t limit our worship to raising our hands and shedding a few tears. We can go beyond that. Like Mary, we can worship Him by freely giving something of value towards His Kingdom. We can commit to getting up 30 minutes earlier every day just to worship Him. If you paint, worship Him through painting. Worship Him while you workout. We can do whatever He puts in our hearts to show our appreciation. 

Our worship shouldn’t be limited to a Sunday experience. Worship Him out of your gratitude. Worship Him because you love Him. Worship Him because He’s good. Worship Him in your own way.

O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood, and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you do. Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.

It has become very popular to talk about our struggles. Counseling is common, and in the body of Christ, we’ve developed small groups to discuss the challenges in life. This is a good thing and it’s very beneficial.

At the same time, discussing the goodness of God is being pushed to the back. No one really talks about our victories and the good things God has done. In some circles, it’s seen as the sin of boasting.

This shouldn’t be. Anything God has done in our lives is for His glory. We may have gotten the new job, a new house, or a baby, but God gets the glory. We shouldn’t be ashamed or silenced for what He’s done just because others are experiencing His blessings. If anything, our testimony should encourage them to go all in and totally rely on God.

It’s important to talk about our temptations, but also the testimonies. Don’t forget the miraculous things that God has done because He gets the glory.

Psalms 50:14 NLT Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High.

In this chapter, God let His people know He didn’t need the sacrifices of bulls and goats. Instead, He wanted thankfulness to be their sacrifice.

Thankfulness is not something we do only on Thanksgiving. Thankfulness should be our lifestyle. Thank Him for making it home safely. Thank Him for having a home. Thank Him for the necessities. Thank Him for family and friends. Thank God for sending Jesus to sacrifice Himself for the sins of the world. Thank Him for adopting us into His family. Every time our heart beats or we inhale is an opportunity to be thankful. Thank God for EVERYTHING.

Our gratitude to God will keep us focused on the wonderful things He’s doing. Thankfulness keeps sadness, fear, and depression away. Thankfulness is what He desires. So if you want something to do for God, even though He doesn’t require it in the new covenant, make a sacrifice of thankfulness.

Proverbs 4:20-22 KJV My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh.

Notice what it didn’t say. It didn’t say only the healing scriptures are health to all our flesh. It said God’s Word is health to all our flesh. 

That means our health is maintained by reading the story of David and Goliath, the book of Revelation, and the Song of Songs. Whatever we read and meditate on in the Word of God is health to our bodies.

So, whether we have minor aches and pains or stage four cancer, all of God’s Words provide health to all of our bodies.

Psalms 107:20 NLT He sent out His word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.

For every negative circumstance that we could imagine, God’s word has been made available for us to hold on to. If we can hold on to His word without letting go, we’ll have what it says.

It doesn’t matter if the problem is financial, health related, a lust problem, an eating problem, or problems with our children, God’s word is available for us to use. Whatever the problem is, a solution can be found and applied in His word.

God’s word has been made available for everyone. Take the word by faith and read it, study it, and meditate on it and receive what it has to offer.

Isaiah 40:29 NLT He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

Pick up the kids, go to work, cook, grocery shopping, clean up the house, cut the grass, and serve at church. All of these adult responsibilities can be exhausting.

When we’re tired, look to God and receive His strength that He’s made available through Jesus Christ. Simply say, “God, I receive Your strength to get through this day.”

Now, we also have to have corresponding actions to our faith. We should go to bed at a decent time and eat well.

Don’t get overwhelmed by the responsibilities. Rely on the supply of our Heavenly Father to strengthen us each and every day.

Hebrews 4:11 NLT So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.

God’s word instructs us to labor to enter that rest. What this means is that we rest when everything in us wants to do something about the natural problem.

We rest, trusting that God has already worked it out if we’re feeling anxious because we’re not seeing a change in our financial status. We rest, receiving His peace, when our marriages are not working out the way we thought they should. We rest, trusting that God healed us, when the doctor gives us a negative report. 

Whatever we think we can handle on our own, in our flesh, don’t do it. Trust God’s word and His timing and rest until the situation is worked out or until He tells us to move.

Luke 15:1 NLT Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach.

Sometimes, people who may be considered second-class citizens to others don’t feel welcomed in the house of God. Like the Pharisees, other believers don’t make them feel welcomed for whatever reason. They move away from them because they smell like smoke or alcohol. They look at them funny because they walk in the church with t-shirts and tattoos. This shouldn’t be.

Believers, we should make everyone feel welcomed. Just because we’ve been saved for a few years doesn’t make us better than anyone else. We all need His grace.

For those who desire to get right with God, just come. Like the sinners in this verse, come without caring what anyone else thinks. Come because you desire a relationship with God. Come because you want a better life. Come to be healed and delivered. Don’t let the opinions of others stop you from getting what God gas for you.

Anytime we call on God, we’re liable to have a supernatural experience. We’re not twisting God’s arm or begging Him to show us amazing things. He obligated Himself to show us mighty things.

When we call Him, He’ll show us a better way to do our taxes. Call Him, and He’ll show us a healthier eating plan. Seek Him, and He’ll show us where to invest. Call Him, and He’ll show us how to be a great parent to all of our children.

Name the topic, have patience, and stick with Him, and He’ll show us great and mighty things.

Hebrews 6:12 NIV We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

God’s word works. In any situation under any circumstance, God’s word works.

God’s word says we can lay hands on the sick and they shall recover (Mark 16:18). We can cast out demons (Mark 16:17). We forbid or permit things in the earth (Matt 18:18). We can have what we say (Mark 11:23). We can live a long and satisfying life (Psalm 91:16).

The thing that usually causes us to doubt God’s word is delay. When we lay hands on the sick and nothing happens. When we speak to our situation for a week and nothing appears to have changed. These are the things that tempt us to doubt the power in God’s word.

The key is to stay with the word of God. If we stay with the word regardless of the delays and what we see, God’s word will come to pass. Have faith and patience and God’s word will come to pass.

Most of us don’t thank God for the things that didn’t happen. We don’t thank Him because we’re not aware of what He protected us from.

Having a nervous breakdown, being paralyzed in a car crash, being robbed at gunpoint, being abducted and sexualy trafficked, getting diagnosed with an “incurable” disease, getting a limb cut off in a freak accident, or dying.

These are things we may not have gone through. Be grateful that these things didn’t happen.

And if you did experience these things, be grateful that you’re alive, thinking soundly, to tell your story of how God kept you.

Every now and then, we should take some time and thank God for the things that didn’t happen in our lives. 

God, we’re grateful.

Romans 7:17 PEV So really, it’s not us that does those bad things. It’s that bad part of us that is inside us.

We are spirits. We have a soul, and we live in a body. When we get born-again, our spirits are the only thing that changes. Our bodies, which are prone to sin and opposed to God (the flesh), can never be redeemed. Our souls, which consist of our mind, will, and emotions, can be transformed by the word of God or negatively influenced by our flesh.

Our sinful behavior is the result of our flesh getting its way due to an unrenewed mind. When we find ourselves engaging in sinful behavior, don’t identify with it. It’s not us. Remember, we are born-again spirits, which mean we’re righteous, holy, and sanctified in Christ Jesus. There’s no amount of sin that can make us unrighteous. So, even if we have a sinful binge, we can look ourselves in the mirror and say we’re righteous.

When we identify who we really are (the righteousness of God) and renew our minds with the word of God, our actions will line up with our true identity (2 Cor. 5:21).

2 Timothy 1:7 NLT For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Deciding to no longer drive after being involved in a major car crash. Not getting married because of past hurts in relationships. Not attempting to have children because of miscarriages. 

These are examples of people catering to trauma. They’re allowing fear to control different areas of their lives. No part of our lives should be governed by fear. Sure, we’ll experience unfortunate circumstances every now and then, but God’s word is still the truth and will dominate any situation.

No matter how many miscarriages a person had, God promises us, at some point, we won’t miscarry (Exodus 23:26). We may have been involved in a few accidents, but trust in the angels of God for protection as you drive (Psalm 91:11-12). Even if we’ve had difficulties in previous relationships, God will give us the desires of our hearts, including a wonderful marriage (Psalm 37:4).

Don’t allow fear to win. It’s restricting and the tool the enemy uses for destruction. Be fearless by having faith in God and live a life of freedom.

1 Corinthians 3:1-3 NLT Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ. I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready, for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn’t that prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren’t you living like people of the world?

We can be saved and still act carnal. Carnal essentially means led by the senses. If a person limits themselves to what they see, hear, feel, or experience, they’re acting carnal.

If we want to fight anyone who looks at us funny, we’re acting carnal. If we get highly emotional because we didn’t get something we wanted, we’re acting carnal. If we freak out after hearing a negative report from the doctor’s office, that’s carnal too. None of these responses impact our salvation. We can love God and be appreciative of the sacrifice of Jesus, but still act carnally.

What limits or completely stops a Christian from acting carnal is being led by the Spirit and understanding what’s been freely given to us in Christ (Romans 8:9; 1 Cor. 2:12).

Listening to the Spirit of God telling us to “let it go” will keep us from getting into altercations. When we know we can have whatever we desire that aligns with godliness when we ask Him according to His will, we won’t be distraught when we don’t immediately get what we wanted (Mark 11:24; 2 Pet. 1:3; 1 John 5:14). We’ll realize it’s just a matter of His timing before it comes to pass (Gal. 6:9). That doctor’s report won’t move us because we’ll realize we’re healed through Christ (1 Pet. 2:24).

Because we live in this flesh, which always wants to oppose God, thoughts of acting carnal will always come up, but we don’t have to act on it. The more we allow ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit and the more we know about what God provided through Christ, the easier it will be to act more spiritual in those situations instead of carnal.

King Uzziah started off right. He honored and pleased God. As he honored God, he became more and more successful. His fame grew all over the land. The fame went to Uzziah’s head and caused him to unapologetically rebel against the Lord. He died as a leper, isolated from everyone.

As we put God first and honor Him, His word declares we’ll prosper (Joshua 1:8; Matt. 6:33). Don’t let the success and prosperity go to your head. If we’re not mindful, like Uzziah, pride will set in, and we’ll feel like it’s okay not to honor our commitment at church. We’ll intentionally disobey God or disrespect someone else. We’ll feel like “we made it” therefore, we don’t have to be as faithful as we once were. This is a demonically influenced mentality.

The more successful we become, the more disciplined we’ll have to be to keep God first. It’s easy to have a relationship with God when you need something from Him. But when everything is going well, it can be tempting to dishonor God.

No matter where you are in life, value the presence of God and prioritize Him.

Isaiah 57:20-21 NLT “But those who still reject me are like the restless sea, which is never still but continually churns up mud and dirt. There is no peace for the wicked,” says my God.

For various reasons, people reject God. They may see the horrific events in the world and think, “There is no God.” They may have gone through traumatic experiences as a child and think if God was real, why didn’t He save me from that. They may think God isn’t real because science hasn’t proven His existence.

The rejection of God leaves people without peace. They may have $1 billion, but they don’t have peace. They always feel like something is missing from their lives. They’re never satisfied. Ultimately, their rejection of God will leave them in a place eternally separated from God.

The reason why they don’t have peace and they’re never satisfied is God made us to need Him (Acts 17:25). The rejection of God leaves people with a void in their spirits.

To have ultimate peace and satisfaction, accept God and accept His Son (Jesus). Accept the sacrifice His Son made for mankind and accept His forgiveness forever.
