Joel 3:10 NKJV Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ”
There are people who are afraid to say what God says about them. Because they don’t believe it themselves, they think they’re lying. We can’t lie saying what God said.
We might feel weak or inadequate, but God tells us to say we’re strong. Is it a lie? Of course not. Because from His perspective, which is the only perspective that matters and is true, we are strong. Romans 3:4 says, let God be true, but every man a liar. That lying man may be us and our perspective at times.
As we consistently confess what God says about us, faith comes (Rom. 10:17). When faith comes, our perspective supernaturally shifts and agrees with God’s word. We’ll begin to believe we’re strong and experience victories in numerous areas of our lives. We’ll believe we’re strong enough to kick that habit. We’ll believe we’re strong enough to resist temptations. We’ll believe we’re strong enough to stay calm and not go off on that person who’s testing our patience.
Confessing what God says also applies with our health, our righteousness, our forgiveness, and our holiness. Begin to say what God says you.
Mark 12:41-44 NKJV Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”
-Jesus stood next to the offering as they gave to His ministry (intimidation).
-Jesus watched how much money people were giving (intrusive).
-Jesus allowed a poor widow woman to give all she had.
If Jesus would have did this today, He would have been bashed on social media, called a false prophet, and canceled.
Since it’s in the bible, let’s put our emotions to the side and see what God is teaching us.
1. The Importance of Giving
It’s important for everyone (rich or poor) to participate in giving to the Kingdom of God.
2. Voluntary Giving
Nowhere in this passage do we see Jesus forcing people give. They all gave voluntarily.
3. A Heart to Give
Our giving is not based on a certain amount. Our giving should be proportional to what we have. Our giving reflects what’s in our hearts. Paul confirms this in 2 Corinthians 9:7.
4. Harvest From Our Seed
Knowing the woman gave all she had, Jesus didn’t give the widow’s money back to her or collect an offering for her. He allowed her gift to be sown as a seed. Based on the size of her seed (all she had), that seed is guaranteed to bring her a great harvest (2 Cor. 9:6).
Before bashing a minister on how they receive an offering and before criticizing a believer for how much they’re giving, consider both of them maybe following instructions from God.
Jeremiah 33:2 AMPC Thus says the Lord Who made [the earth], the Lord Who formed it to establish it–the Lord is His name:
The world has numerous theories of how the earth was formed. There’s a theory that says, gravity caused a massive cloud of interstellar gas and dust to collapse into a spinning disk. Rocky materials clumped together into planetesimals, which continually collided and grew into our planet. Another theory says, a young, newly formed sun was surrounded by a rotating protoplanetary disk of dust, ice, and gas. Tiny dust grains collided and stuck together electrostatically, growing larger to form pebble-sized clumps, then larger rocks called planetesimals. These planetesimals continuously smashed into one another, building larger bodies that possessed enough gravity to attract and vacuum up surrounding matter. All these theories leave out one thing…God.
In Jeremiah 33:2, God Almighty takes ownership for creating, establishing, and forming the earth. It wasn’t a coincidence or a random act. It was God.
The unsaved attempt to make us feel foolish for believing in an invisible God who created everything. They’re still waiting on evidence of His existence. Until they have this evidence, they will not believe.
There have and will always be theories in the world that will exclude God. We should expect that from the minds of people without God. We need to make sure that we don’t get deceived by their logic and forgo our faith in God’s word. God’s word is the truth and everything else that doesn’t align with God’s word is a lie.
When a task seems too big or when people miss the mark, people may say, “I’m only human.” I fact, there’s a song that repeats that statement over and over. The Bible doesn’t limit us to being only human. We’re much more than that.
When we get born again, we become children of God (1 John 3:1). We are the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21). We are kings and priests (Rev. 1:6). We are gods (Psalms 82:6). This is a short list of who God says we are.
When we get a full revelation of who we are in Christ, nothing can stop us, nothing can discourage us, nothing can stand against us, and we always win (2 Cor. 2:14).
A way to be fully convinced about who we are in Christ is daily confessions. Say, “I am a child of God, I am the righteousness of God, etc.” Our words have authoritative power in the earth. What we say will come to pass (Mark 11:23). As we continue to say these things about ourselves, our minds are renewed and we’ll truly believe these things.
We are NOT only human. Study God’s word and believe everything He says about you.
Revelation 1:5-6 NKJV and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Daniel 7:1 NIV In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he was lying in bed. He wrote down the substance of his dream.
Sometimes, we want to experience supernatural events. We want to see angels, interpret dreams, or see Jesus. There’s nothing wrong with desiring these things, but God can speak to us through a vision we have in our minds.
We could be wide awake and God can show us things in our minds. It could be something that’s about to happen, something that’s currently happening, or something that’s already happened. Many of us dismiss these thoughts, call it daydreaming, or letting our minds wonder, but it could be God giving us supernatural vision.
If we get what we believe is a vision, we need to confirm if that vision was from God, because Satan can use our minds too. Secondly, we need to be sensitive to hear God’s voice regarding the meaning of these visions. We don’t want our flesh to get involved and come up with our own meaning of these visions. Finally, we need to be obedient with what God showed us. Everything He shows us is not for everyone. On the other hand, we don’t want to hoard something He’s trying to share with someone else or for the body of Christ.
We may go through our entire life without ever getting a supernatural vision from God that we can see with our natural eyes. But as we spend time with God, He most likely will show us visions in our minds. Respond to these visions responsibly.

Genesis 1:2-3 NKJV The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
When God saw the darkness, He didn’t say… It sure is dark. He didn’t want the darkness, so He called for light. And light came.
In our own lives, we may have some darkness we see. It could be emotional trauma, physical pain, financial lack, or relationship problems. Instead of talking about the darkness, call for what you want to see (light).
Instead of telling your friends and family how bad your marriage is, declare the Holy Spirit is working on both of us and we’re getting better every single day. Instead of telling yourself or someone else how you have triggers due to trauma, declare the stripes of Jesus have healed me of previous hurts.
Stop talking about or calling for darkness. That’s the known. Use your God-given authority, through your speech, to call for the light. That’s the only way things will change.

Isaiah 65:17 NKJV “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
The things that we experience in this life won’t even come to mind when the new heavens and earth are created. All of the heartache, sickness, division, hurt, pain, and sadness won’t be acknowledged.
We’re going to be so satisfied and fulfilled being in the presence of God until we won’t think about what happened in this life. It’s going to be an awesome time.
But until then, we have to make the most of this life. Yes, it’s a fallen world and everything won’t go our way all the time, but Jesus promised us an abundant life (John 10:10). That means, overall, life should be good. We should continue to progress in our relationship with God, our health should be maintained, and we should experience increase in all aspects of life.
Not only that, but there are some assignments we need to accomplish. Some of us are called to preach, give to the poor, teach financial literacy, or counsel those who experienced emotional pain. Whatever God has called you to do in this life, do it.
Every now and then, we can think about the new heavens and earth and what’s to come, but until then, let’s accomplish the will of the Father by enjoying life and fulfilling our purpose.

Daniel 2:17-19 NKJV Then Daniel went to his house, and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Daniel was in a life or death situation. He needed to know and interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dream or he was going to die. He sought the Lord and God revealed the dream and the interpretation of that dream to him.
We may not be in a life or death situation, but there are some secrets, mysteries, and knowledge that we need revealed in our lives.
Some secrets include how to get our children to understand certain subjects in school, if our spouse is cheating on us, or how to mend a broken relationship. The only One who can provide us with this revelation is God.
Like Daniel, we can go to God in prayer and ask for revelation in that area. It may take a day, a week, or a year, but He’ll reveal the answer to us.
Don’t dismiss how and where this revelation comes. Obviously, He can reveal secrets through our spirits, but His revelation may come from research on the internet, a conversation with a stranger, or a six-year old child.
Praise God we don’t have to go through life ignorant, wondering about this or that, or looking insecure. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him (Daniel 2:22).

The favor of God is more powerful than racism, sexism, classism, or any other “ism.” The favor of God is more powerful than what’s going on in the economy. The favor of God is more powerful than unemployment. It would be in our best interest to stop feeding on reels/news about injustices, recessions, unemployment, or any other negative circumstances because we’re building up our belief in that. And although these things may be facts, the power of God overcomes facts with Truth.
It was a fact that the doctor said that little girl would always suffer seizures. Her parents refused to declare that fact over her life and instead chose to declare the Truth of God’s Word – that by Jesus’ stripes she is healed (Isaiah 53:5). And that truth came to pass.
The Truth over our lives is, “For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.” Psalms 5:12. Racism, recession, and any other negative news is a fact in this fallen world. But the favor of God on our lives is more powerful than facts. Feed on favor.
Recall Joseph and even though he was unfairly released from a good position with Potiphar, he was promoted to a greater position with Pharaoh (Gen. 39-41).
As we fix our eyes on Him and not give our attention to these negative facts, we’ll experience God’s favor like never before.
Psalms 84:11 NIV For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

Romans 1:9 NKJV For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers,
Some of our friends and family members have no one praying for them. They may not even be praying for themselves.
That’s where we, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who have a strong commitment to pray, come in. We can pray for their salvation, safety, deliverance, restoration, and so much more. We can pray for their families, their relationship with God becoming more intimate, and that they do more for the Kingdom of God.
Like Paul, pray for them without ceasing. Don’t stop praying for them. Don’t think your prayers are a waste of time because you’re not seeing a change in their lives. That’s carnal. Keep praying for them, and if God leads you, talk to them too.
It’s important to keep our friends and family in prayer. We may be the only consistent link to God that they have.

Hebrews 4:14-16 NKJV Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
God’s mercy is not as apparent when we’re doing everything correctly. His mercy is mostly seen when we’ve missed the mark.
We should make the effort to live a holy life, but there will be times when we miss the mark. Our flesh instinctively wants to avoid and distance ourselves from God. We see this with Adam and Eve when they missed the mark (Gen. 3:8-10). But avoiding God is unwise.
People who avoid God or beat themselves up about their mistakes don’t have a full revelation of God’s mercy. Like Adam and Eve, they become afraid. They become afraid of God’s wrath, judgment, or punishment. We don’t need to be afraid. All of these things were put on Jesus (Romans 5:6-11).
God never expected us to be perfect. God’s mercy was designed to comfort us when we miss it. As soon as we miss the mark, we should recognize, appreciate, and run back to God and His mercy. As the scripture says, it’s there to “help in the time of need.”
Another beautiful thing about God’s mercy is that it never runs out. No matter how many times we mess up, His mercy is available. Praise God for His mercy.

Acts 28:8 NKJV And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him.
Paul was shipwrecked on the island of Malta. After meeting some of the locals, he was informed of a sick man. Instead of ignoring the sick man, he boldly prayed for the sick man and the man was healed.
Paul wasn’t looking for someone to heal, but an opportunity presented itself. Not only was the man healed, but everyone else on the island with a disease was healed (v. 9).
There will be times that will require us to boldly walk into our authority. We may have a meeting at work where one of the attendees has a seizure or someone in the store collapses because of a heart attack. We can’t be ashamed of our beliefs or wonder what they’ll think of us. And we certainly shouldn’t ignore them. We must enter that situation and boldly represent the Kingdom of God.
A byproduct of our belief and boldness may lead others to Christ. Let’s be bold and unashamed to go outside the church to pray for others, lay hands on the sick, and preach the Kingdom of God.

Psalms 107:1 NKJV Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Some believers think it’s grace alone that saves, but others think it’s grace plus our works. Some don’t believe in speaking in tongues, but others do. Some don’t believe believers should experience prosperity, but others think prosperity is God’s will. With all these differences we have in the body of Christ, there’s one thing we should all agree on. That’s giving thanks.
Let’s stop all the bickering and criticizing for a second and just give God thanks. Thank Him for His love. Thank Him for sending Jesus as a sacrificial lamb for our sins. Thank Him for the Holy Spirit living inside of us and guiding us. Thank God for His grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Thank Him for His Word.
Keep going. Thank Him for our parents. They may not have been the best, but they gave us life. Thank Him for life, health, and strength. Some of us may be going through some health challenges, but we’re more healthy than we are sick or in pain. Thank Him that all our needs are met. We may not have everything we want, but our essential needs have been met by Him. Let’s thank God for any positive thing in our lives.
Of course we want people to know the truth of God’s Word and grow in their relationship with God, but this often leads to conflict. As believers, we don’t need to be at odds all the time. Periodically, let’s be on one accord and just be thankful for all that God has done.

Genesis 39:2-3 KJV And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
When some people hear the word prosperity, they automatically think of money and riches. Joseph was a slave. He had no rights and no riches, yet the bible called him prosperous. This lets us know that prosperity is not limited to money.
God’s version of prosperity is all encompassing. It means to advance, to make progress, to succeed, and to be profitable. This can be done in multiple areas of our lives. We can and should be prospering in our health, our careers, in our families, and in our finances too. Whatever we’re doing and whatever state we’re in, we should be prospering. 3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” This further confirms that it’s God’s will for us to prosper in multiple areas outside of money.
Prosperity includes money, but it’s not limited to money. We can and should be prospering in every area of our lives.

Since the beginning, God has given us power to use. He said, “let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” In Luke 10:19 Jesus says to us, “behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
We have all this God-given power, but some of us don’t use it. We either don’t know we have this power or we don’t know how to use it.
If we study the scriptures, we’ll see all the ways God has given us power. By meditating on these scriptures, we’ll be convinced of this power.
Once we understand the power that’s available to us, it’s time to use it. We use it by speaking faith-filled words with authority. Jesus, our example, speaks to demons, sickness, storms, and Satan himself, and tells them what to do (Mk. 5:8; Matt. 8:8-13; Mk. 4:35-41; Matt. 4:10-11). And He said, whatever works He does, we can do them too and even greater works (John 14:12).
Don’t allow life to hand you whatever it wants. Using the name of Jesus, we have dominion and power over every negative circumstance. Let’s use that power to overcome, resist, and obtain what’s rightfully ours in Christ (John 14:13).
Acts 1:8 NKJV But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Psalms 5:12 NKJV For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
The favor of God is in and on our lives. We have favor with God and mankind (Prov. 3:4). The favor of God takes us into places that we’re unqualified to be. The favor of God supernaturally highlights our work performance. The favor of God causes increase, sustained health, and battles won we didn’t have to fight.
To the world’s logic, the favor of God seems like a coincidence or just luck. It’s not. It’s God supernaturally positioning us to be at the right place, at the right time, to be around the right people. When the company laid off 80% of the employees, we were in the 20% that kept our jobs. When we didn’t know if we were going to make the event on time, traffic opened up like the Red Sea. When most people who ate at the restaurant got sick, we didn’t. Out of everyone in the room, this good looking man or woman of God found us attractive.
Don’t settle for whatever life hands us. Start to expect and recognize the favor of God. Once His favor is identified, thank Him for it.
