Psalms 107:1 NKJV Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Some believers think it’s grace alone that saves, but others think it’s grace plus our works. Some don’t believe in speaking in tongues, but others do. Some don’t believe believers should experience prosperity, but others think prosperity is God’s will. With all these differences we have in the body of Christ, there’s one thing we should all agree on. That’s giving thanks.
Let’s stop all the bickering and criticizing for a second and just give God thanks. Thank Him for His love. Thank Him for sending Jesus as a sacrificial lamb for our sins. Thank Him for the Holy Spirit living inside of us and guiding us. Thank God for His grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Thank Him for His word.
Keep going. Thank Him for our parents. They may not have been the best, but they gave us life. Thank Him for life, health, and strength. Some of us may be going through some health challenges, but we’re more healthy than we are sick or in pain. Thank Him that all our needs are met. We may not have everything we want, but our essential needs have been met by Him. Let’s thank God for any positive thing in our lives.
Of course we want people to know the truth of God’s word and grow in their relationship with God, but this often leads to conflict. As believers, we don’t need to be at odds all the time. Periodically, let’s be on one accord and be thankful for all that God has done.
