Isaiah 46:4 NIV Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

God’s sustaining abilities sometimes go unnoticed and unthanked. We’re used to God adding good things to our lives or delivering us from bad situations, but sustaining us is a blessing too.

When we’ve gone 6 months to a year without any major issues, that’s God sustaining us. Nothing big maybe happening, but we’re not going through misery either. God sustaining us is where we can comfortably pay our bills, have no issues with our health, and our jobs are tolerable. It’s where our vehicles function properly, our family dynamic is going well, and our mental health is sound. All of our needs are met and we’re anxious for nothing.

Don’t overlook God’s sustaining power. When we recognize the sustaining abilities of God, that gives us another reason to praise, worship, and honor our God.
