Genesis 39:2-3 KJV And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

When some people hear the word prosperity, they automatically think of money and riches. Joseph was a slave. He had no rights and no riches, yet the bible called him prosperous. This let’s us know that prosperity is not limited to money.

God’s version of prosperity is all encompassing. It means to advance, to make progress, to succeed, and to be profitable. This can be done in multiple areas of our lives. We can and should be prospering in our health, our careers, in our families, and in our finances too. Whatever we’re doing and whatever state we’re in, we should be prospering. 3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” This further confirms that it’s God’s will for us to prosper in multiple areas outside of money.

Prosperity includes money, but it’s not limited to money. We can and should be prospering in every area of our lives.
