Genesis 32:9 Then Jacob prayed, “O God of my father Abraham, God of my father Isaac, O LORD, who said to me, ‘Go back to your country and your relatives, and I will make you prosper,’
&
12 But you have said, ‘I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.'”
In Genesis 28:14 and Genesis 31:3 Jacob remembered God’s promise of safety and prosperity. When Jacob’s safety and prosperity was threatened, Jacob held God accountable to His word through prayer.
We should take a lesson from Jacob and hold God accountable to His word. When we hold God accountable to His word it shows God that we’re standing in faith and resting in His promises. Whatever need or desire we have, locate it in the word of God and stand in faith on those promises.
Need healing? Hold God accountable to His word which says, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Got needs? Hold God accountable to His word which says, God will supply my needs (Philippians 4:19).
God desires? Hold God accountable to His word which says, God will give you the desires of your heart.
Whatever it is, stand on the promises of God.
Have Faith
Luke 11:42 “What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.
To all those who believe tithing is not necessary or think tithing is only under the law, here we have Jesus the Christ telling us otherwise. Jesus is explaining to the Pharisees and us that we should tithe but, also have love for one another. If tithing was not the will God, Jesus would not have the authority to say so.
Tithing is a way for God to bless us. Many times, people view tithing in a natural sense instead of a spiritual sense. They view tithing as a way for preachers to get our money or a way the church pays their bills. Although the church uses the money for necessary things, we’re ultimately giving a tenth of our income to God.
God doesn’t need our money but, He wants our trust and reliance to be on Him and not our money.
For those who are not tithing, give God a try. Give a tenth of your income to your church and I guarantee God will enhance the quality of your lives (Malachi 3:10).
Trust God
