1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

The Bible informs us WE must keep our bodies and bring it (our bodies) into subjection. What this is essentially saying is, we have dominion and control over our bodies. No one is going to control it for us. The body represents every fleshly desire. God is not going to control or discipline our flesh because He left that responsibility for us.

Every addiction, disorder, or issue regarding our bodies, we control. We have dominion and control whether we stay in shape or become obese. We have dominion and control whether we give into sexual temptations. We have dominion and control whether we allow drugs or alcohol to rule our flesh.

The point is, no one can control our flesh, but us. God has given us free will and He can’t even control our flesh, or else He would violate His law.

The question now is, are we going to let our bodies (our flesh man) rule us with its lustful desires or are we (our spirit man) going to bring our bodies into subjection?
