Deuteronomy 27:16 “Cursed is the man who dishonors his father or his mother.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
As of now, we are between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. This seems like a great time to speak on honoring our parents.
When we see cursed in the Bible, it means an empowerment to fail. Whatever a person tries to do, they fail. Some of us may feel like we have the greatest parents, while others despise their parents. No matter what type of parents we have or had, we should honor them. Honor means to highly esteem. It’s easy to honor great parents but, to those who were not fortunate enough to have great parents, we have to honor our parents by faith. We may not have experienced great parenting but, we honor our parents because the Bible says so. They may have never supported you, or they may have rejected you, or said hurtful things about you but, we rise above those negative things and honor our parents. And because we honor our parents, we experience the blessing. We will be empowered to prosper.
Let’s honor our parents and prosper.
