Phil 2: 12b —continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. 14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16b as you hold firmly to the word of life.
Do things without grumbling or complaining because God is at work within us. If we submit to Him and do His will then we know that He is working everything to our good (Romans 8:28). He may be doing something to enhance His kingdom, or to develop us. He may be attempting to remove selfishness or misplaced priorities before elevating us to that next position in which He may have certain objectives set for us.
To complain is to indirectly tell God that you would have done it differently which undermines our faith in knowing He is working EVERYthing for our good (Romans 8:28). So next time a complaint comes to mind, instead choose to confess faith in God and thank Him.
