Most of the time when people gossip, it’s usually about something negative. There is no such thing as positive gossip. Think about it.
The juiciest gossip involves relationships. It’s usually about someone breaking up with someone else, someone cheating on someone else, or someone got someone else pregnant. Have you ever wondered why gossip is considered wrong in so many cultures?

In Ephesians 4:29 it says the following: Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
God’s word tells us to speak about positive things. Things that will build each other up. Also, death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). If everyone is speaking about the same negative event, we are reinforcing death into the atmosphere or into that person’s situation, rather than life.

Let’s remove ourselves from gossip and speak life to strengthen our brothers, sisters, and the Kingdom of God.
