Mark 4:37-40 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
With His faith, Jesus changed the atmosphere. Jesus caused a stormy situation to turn into a peaceful situation. The storm did not obey Jesus because He was the Son of God. The storm obeyed Jesus because Jesus had faith and He understood the authority mankind has in the earth (Genesis 1:26). Jesus understood that the magnitude of His faith can move mountains and change the atmosphere (Matthew 21:21).
We too can operate in the same type of faith that Jesus operated in. In fact, the Word of God says, we can do even greater works than Jesus did (John 14:12). With this in mind, wherever a stormy situation is, our faith can change the atmosphere.
If we or someone else is in an abusive situation, our faith can change the atmosphere for the better.
If we or someone else is being mistreated, our faith can change the atmosphere for the better.
If our neighborhood is filled with drug dealers, prostitutes, and violence, our faith can change the atmosphere.
If our nation is under attack by terrorism, racism, and poverty, our faith can change the atmosphere.
This is our world. God gave us dominion over this world. If we want to see a change in our lives and in the world, our faith is going to be a catapult for that change.
Work your faith.
