Psalms 81:8 “Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you! O Israel, if you will listen to Me!
We often come to God telling Him all of our problems and all of our troubles. We also come to Him with our needs and desires. There is a time to tell God all troubles and desires, but there is a greater benefit in listening.
Prayer is communication between God and ourselves. If we’re constantly giving God a list of our troubles and needs but never listening, we could be missing out on our solution. God could be telling us what bank we need to visit to get a loan for the house we desire. God could be informing us on the management style we need to have to get the most out of our employees. God could be providing instructions on how to handle a difficult boss so that we’re not stressed at work.
All this Godly-advice and wisdom is available to us, but we’ll never benefit from it if we’re constantly talking and never listening. To maximize our relationship with God, let’s allow God to speak to us about everything that’s going on in our lives.
