Isaiah 31:1 “Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the LORD!”
We have the tendency to trust in things we can measure with our senses. We’ll trust our employment because we can see the amount of money we make on a monthly basis. We’ll trust in the economy in our country based on the pattern that’s projected by so-called experts. We’ll trust in our education based on statistical success we see in society.
As faithful as some of these things have been, they still may be unreliable one day. The only source of consistency we can fully rely on is God. Everything else may change, but God will never change. God is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.
Evaluate your life. Are you placing more faith or trust in the things of this world or are you totally relying in God?
